Product Description

Located near Portets in the northern part of Graves and close to the southern limit of Pessac-Leognan, you'll find Chateau Crabitey. This train abbey sits on a hill of deep gravel from the Garonne river.

Since 1999, Arnaud de Butler has had considerable success, quality and sustainable practices in the vineyard and a modern winery. The first vintages
were produced , winning one award after another. It is now one of the flagship estates of the Graves renaissance appellation and has won multiple awards and accolades.

Building on the work done, now concentrates on the quality of grapes. He focuses on his key areas of expertise: plowing, shoot-thinning, green harvesting and integrated farming. With the construction of a new winery in 2001 the estate went to another level again.

Region / soil : Graves. Deep Garonne gravel.

Grapes : 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Alcohol: 14% VOL

Winemaking techniques: Green harvesting in early July. Harvest destemmed, cold maceration, fermentation in stainless steel vats. Fermentation temperatures between 25 ° C and 28 ° C, with maceration at 28 ° C for around 20 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, one-third are new. No filtering.

Our tasting notes: A purple / black deep-colored wine that reveals a wonderful bouquet. Layered dense fruit, with red fruits and some chocolate notes. This has powerful fruit and fine tannins. Excellent quality for the price.
